The course has filled in a lot of gaps in my knowledge when it comes to understanding the “why’s” and the “what’s” of settings of the camera I have used but couldn’t fully explain to myself. The presenter is honest and gives practical advice that I can relate to from my own photographic experiences. — Mike Howell
2. Photography: Ditch Auto – Start Shooting in Manual
This course is taught by Jerad Hill. Over 186,366 students have taken this. It gets 6,969 ratings.
Great course! The beginning was a bit boring, just going over some of the extreme basics, and I as a more experienced photographer skipped most of it. I came to learn how to adjust my shooting settings quickly and easily, and to phase my way out of using automatic modes. Oh, and did i mention its completely free to enroll?? — Owen Sinkus

4. Learn Photographic Exposure Best Practices
This course is taught by Kasia Zmokla. Over 16,929 students have taken this. It gets 518 ratings.
This course was by far (in my opinion) the best to understand the histogram and the technical ”stuff ” of exposure…In the beginning i was a little bit hesitant cause of miss Kasia Zmokla’s accent (sorry…by the way, mine is by far worse than hers)…But now i can say with confidence that the course worth it all the way…Im really thinking of buying some other courses of hers in the future!!! Thanks a lot Miss Kasia. Great great course trully — GK George Kalambakas
The instructor does a good job of taking you through the essential basics of taking a photograph. — Paul Mantripp
a lot of good information but went too fast. sometimes used terms or mentioned concepts that had not been covered or that i had not caught. like “compare and swap stops” and reference to pixels but not clear how to work with that. also i had hoped for more on good combinations of exposure settings for more /larger range of shots for shooting manually. — Marion Steeg

Great!! Step by step, short digestible lessons.— Katherine
Very basic. It would have been nice to see more examples of comparing different settings. — Rupesh Shah
6. Contact Sheets: Begin to take & select great street photos
This course is taught by Thomas Leuthard. Over 9,728 students have taken this. It gets 137 ratings.
This is the second course of Thomas’s that I’ve taken out of curiosity. Both course have helped me improve my photography. I’m not a street photographer but I was motivated to try street photography after taking the courses. My first outing results surprised me as I had put lessons learned to practice. My photo’s now told a story. I also applied the learning to my nature photography which has improved as well. Thomas’s self critique points out what makes an image work. His thought processes are now a part of my own workflow. I’m finding that I am doing much more composing in camera, minimized cropping and the images are much more satisfying to me and apparently others who have now started to notice my work. — Fred Vanderburgh

It was a great course and I learnt a lot from it. Learning about the focal length and aperture on camera was the best part however it would have been slightly better if the course talked a bit more about grids, composition etc. However the course was fantastic thank you :)— Shruti Dashpute
